Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 6 are set to introduce sleep apnea detection in Korea

Earlier this year, Google made a commitment to enhance Wear OS with various features, apps, and tiles. Recently, it introduced new tiles for Google Keep, and now, it has launched the native Gmail app for all Wear OS smartwatches running Wear OS 4, including Galaxy Watches. Continue Reading

This native Gmail app is now accessible on the Google Play Store and was unveiled alongside the Pixel Watch 2 during Google’s recent event. The app was initially announced a few months ago when Google introduced Wear OS 4 at the Google I/O 2023 event. With this app, you can conveniently browse your emails, covering your inbox and other folders or labels. It allows you to view the full email content but does not support opening attachments such as images or documents.

Additionally, the app facilitates the use of multiple Google accounts, making it easy to switch between them. You can navigate through email threads and manually refresh your inbox. It also displays the current synchronization status and features a watch face complication that shows the number of new emails received since your last Gmail app opening. Please note that it only shows the newly received emails, not all unread ones.

The Gmail app operates smoothly, even on older devices like our two-year-old Galaxy Watch 4. While Google has promised a native Wear OS app for Google Calendar, it has not yet been released, and Google has not disclosed a specific launch date. It’s hoped that more native apps for Wear OS smartwatches will be introduced in the future.
